Reelection:

in today's course,I am very enjoying the way that we make 6 models that associated with key words.I like the way we used different materials and combined together in a fast speed.My key words are pump,flow,flutter. And I used crumpled paper towels to get into the narrow paper tube,which showed a banging and coherent feeling.l like the headwear the best because the wrapping wires means the nervous and hesitating feeling,and blooming flower.

In the mental workshop,We learned how to cut metal ,  How to bend when we cutting mental , and how to cut out hollow shapes .Then after cutting ,we need to use files to make edges and surfaces smoother, also  we can choose different shapes of files,it  depends on what types of scale we need. If there are some details where the files can't be slashed to,  we can use a different number of yarns then polish it. When we want to  change the shape of a piece of mental, we can anneal the metal to make it soft and then process it with different tools to give it different textures. For example, we can use a hammer with different patterns or using a tablet press.First, is to place the object above the metal, and then by pressing the tablet press, the texture of the object will leave a mark on the metal. When we weld metal, we need to make sure that the contact surface of the metal is very flat, and then place low temperature and high temperature solder as required. Now heating the whole mental, evenly heated, and to use the fire to heat the need for welding. We can't touch it with your hands after welding, we need to hold it with tweezers and cool it in cold water.

I start to associated this reactional behavior with animal's  self-protection.For example, when we want to catch the squid , it would release the ink in signal to protect  itself avoiding to be hunted. I think animal's self-protection as the same as I want to protect my bed.So I start to think about the pufferfish, like when it is in danger,it would pumping and inflating to protect itself. Also,this process is full of movement from the fish becoming the 'balloon'. I decide to design a jewelry that can pumping to express my mental activity.

Pufferfish will “puff up” as a defense mechanism if they are threatened. A shape that is more than double its original size, round and sometimes covered in spines is much more difficult to bite and isn’t very appetizing to a predator. However, just as people should stretch before exercising to avoid injuring themselves, puffers need to stretch out their muscles as well. Inflating yourself full of water so that your skin is stretched tight can be very painful, especially if your muscles aren’t used to it. Even though they sometimes do it just to stretch, puffing up often can be stressful for a puffer. So, it’s best if they do it only when they need to. This behavior isn’t a puffer’s only means of defense.

In the afternoon, I participated the mental workshop to learn the svilermaking skills.

I cut out the cardboard model with acrylic, and cut holes in the middle that were the same size as the balloon, so that the balloon could be completely stuck in the middle hole. At first, I wanted to use acrylic glue to hold the upper and lower structures together, but the acrylic glue dried too slowly, so I used wire to support all the structures. The linking connection are made  by wrapping  together with thick wire. Finally, I used the blue stocking to cover it. Both the balloon and the acrylic shape were outlined. Also I used the mesh socks to cover it  in order to make it have more clear laying out.
